Biography of Sumitra Nath, ACFM (India), Past Member of Women Chefs & Restaurateurs (WCR), USA

A staunch believer that cooking is an art, more importantly, one that emanates from the heart, Sumitra Nath loves cooking and have cooked recipes which are tried and tested. She has not had any formal training in cookery. But it is what has been learnt in the kitchen for over 12 years in front of the kitchen platform. For her cooking is not a chore, not a hobby but an obsession - a passion. She has under her umbrella more than 350+ original recipes, cooked and tasted by her fan in India, Japan. Her main ingredients are variety and creativity. Also her favourite menus are a judicious combination of dishes including sweets, savouries main courses and finish-offs.

Sumitra take classes to teach Indian techniques with inventiveness in cooking Indian recipes to student in Yokohama. The curriculum is a rigorous, hands-on program that gets challenging non-professional anyone with a passion for cooking the chance to acquire the skills they desire in cooking Indian recipes.
Sumitra also have experience in writing recipes, and can help develop and test the recipes to suit your needs ! The recipes are syndicated in it's  website www.SumitraRecipes.com and can tailor packages combining food styling and recipe writing. Currrent Members to her recipes portal are from countries such as Japan, United States, India, Canada, Denmark, Australia, United Kingdom, South Africa, Nigeria, Ukraine and Argentina China, Guatemala, United Arab Emirates, Russian Federation, Belgium, Hong Kong, Norway, Mauritius, Germany, Indonesia, Qatar and Brazil.

Sumitra's recipes have been published in the The Kolkata Statesman, Free & Easy, and other magazines and newspapers throughout India and Japan. The Sugar Life Club, an affiliate of the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Japan has also published articles featuring her discussing about Indian Sweets and use of sugar and its importance.

Sumitra is a  retired member of the Women Chefs & Restaurateurs (WCR), which is a national, professional association whose mission is to promote the education and advancement of women in the restaurant industry and the betterment of the industry as a whole. Founded in 1993 by eight prominent chefs & restaurateurs, today WCR has over 2,000 members representing every segment of the industry, from culinary student to restaurant owner.
